Stephane Fontaine's "Love Letter to the Fog" conveys misty motion through evocative brushwork and texture. The work "was dreamed up on a foggy drive when it was very difficult to see, making it impossible to speed. Everyone on the highway was forced to slow down below the speed limit," explains the artist. Fontaine used layers of acrylic paint, grease pencil and charcoal to create the soft, lyrical composition. Stephane Fontaine is an Ontario-based artist who favors exploring different materials, mediums and subjects, never settling on a single style. "The only thing that matters to me is being completely and utterly in the present moment," he says. "This is the essence of creativity."
