"This piece is an amalgamation of styles," artist Patrick St. Germain says of "Matala." His original piece mixes textures and finishes — including coarse sand, acrylic gel, matte acrylic gel and charcoal — to create a beautiful middle ground between sculptural and highly stylized works. Patrick St. Germain is a Montreal-based artist who works mostly with acrylic paint, resin, metallics and pastels. He describes his style of art as primarily abstract, textural and complex. "I love to explore the grandeur of nature by weaving abstraction and landscape into my own personal visual language."
