Woven by hand on a traditional loom, New Zealand wool tapestry is a faithful reproduction of an original 1966 design by Los Angeles artist Evelyn Ackerman. Featuring the distinctive organic motifs of California midcentury modernism, the original black and white tapestry was selected for the Pasadena Art Museum's annual California Design exhibition to exemplify the importance of good creative design. Tapestry is suspended by stainless steel plates that echo the clean lines of the design. CB2 exclusive.

Detroit native Evelyn Ackerman founded ERA Industries in 1956 with her husband, Jerome. For 50 years, the Los Angeles-based couple played a central role in shaping the California midcentury modern movement. Ackerman's first woven tapestry design was featured on the cover of the Los Angeles Times Home Magazine in 1957. Presented in collaboration with Ackerman Modern, the pieces in this collection recreate the couple's iconic midcentury designs using original drawings and archival photographs.
